Grand County Fire Ban 2012 - by Cliff Anderson

As you have probably guessed, there is a fire ban in Grand County this summer.  The ban includes open fires & fireworks - read more details in the Fire Ban Resolution and Ordinance.  They also list some exceptions to the ban if you are planning on camping. Although commercial professional fireworks displays are allowed, the sale and use of personal fireworks is prohibited by the ban.

Use of charcoal grills or gas outdoor grills on private property, but use of charcoal grills on public property is not allowed.

And use of fire pits of any kind on private property is not allowed — such as chimineas, wrought iron fire pits and backyard fire pits.

Please be careful out there, Colorado has already seen a lot of fires this year and Grand County would not like to be part of that list.  Be smart and help educate other campers if they are not aware.
