Winter Park Railroad Quiet Zone Update - by Cliff Anderson
February 25, 2012
If you have ever been up Vasquez Road in Winter Park, surely you have noticed the railroad cossing and it's proxminty to the homes. The Town of Winter Park has been working with Union Pacific since 2009 to create a quiet zone. And the final construction of the quiet zone has been delayed until this spring. Weather and cold temperatures are putting the project on hold. Union Pacific says the quiet zone should be done by May.
They still have to install the new gates and electronics for the constant warning device. The railroad crossing won't look much different once complete.
Homeowners and renters are looking forward to this improvement and a good nights sleep!!!
