Give Where You Live, Work and Play - by Lisa Leclair Waldorf

When I meet a prospective buyer or seller for the first time, it always amuses me when they ask me, Do you live here? Of course I live here. This is where I live, work, play with my family and community. At Real Estate of Winter Park, one of our biggest passions is giving back to the community in which we live. This is our home. We want this to always be a wonderful place to work, raise a family and enjoy all the activities we initially moved here to do on a daily basis (see Ski Bumfuture blog). Because we love it here in the Fraser Valley, it is very easy for us to be in the sales industry as we have a wonderful product that is easy to sell. I think sometimes were too modest about what we do for the community as a group. We contribute not only our financial resources but our time to several local organizations. Some of our primary sponsorships in the past year have been toward Early Education, the Grand County Blues Society, the Shining Stars Foundation and the Grand Foundation. The Grand Foundation is an especially important philanthropy to us as it provides funding and grants for over 50 local non-profit organizations. In 2008 they funded nearly $200,000 in grant requests within Grand County. We are so pleased to be able to contribute and give back to where we live, work and play (the motto of the Grand Foundation) and one we share as well. We receive a few Grand Passes from the Grand Foundation each year. This is a benefit we receive as a corporate sponsor that we like to share with our friends, family and clients. If you are able to enjoy these passes, we like for you to know that the funds to purchase these passes go toward grants to benefit local organizations.
