Winter Park will host Nature Valley NASTAR National Championship - by Sylvia Hensley

Winter Park Resort will host the 2010 Nature Valley NASTAR National Championship beginning Wednesday, March 25^th through March 28^th. A celebration of alpine racing the event has free concerts, ski race clinics, VIP events and much more. Developed by SKI magazine in the late sixties, NASTAR provides an entry into ski racing and is the largest recreational race program. Competitors range from 3 years to 90 years old and qualify by earning a top-three ranking in their age division. There are four divisions competitors may compete in the Nationals: Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze. Snowboarders, Telemarkers, and Physically Challenged will be placed in one of three Non-Alpine divisions. This year the top overall male and female will win a trip to Chile to train with the US Ski team. Come visit Winter Park, cheer on the racers and enjoy this fun event!
