Although it isn't looking like summer in Winter Park it is just around the corner and I can't wait! Like a lot of locals, I moved here for the skiing but summers have become my favorite season in Grand County. There is so much to do and so little time. Golf season starts May 15th at Pole Creek Golf Course. We like the Twilight Special after 2pm the rate drops, $48 - $58 (depending on the time of year) and it includes a cart. After a bit of golf we like to stop in the (fairly) new Bistro 28 restaurant in the new club house. The marinas at Granby Reservoir, Shadow Mountain and Grand Lake all open at the end of May and the bike trails should be dry enough to start riding by then too. This summer Real Estate of Winter Park is one of the sponsors for High-Note Thursdays in Hideaway Park. If you haven't been to one of these free concerts I highly recommend that you check them out. Every Thursday from 6pm to 8pm, bring a picnic dinner & bottle of wine and enjoy some great music while catching the alpenglow on the Continental Divide. This summer the town of Winter Park and Winter Park Ski Resort are hosting a lot of events in Hideaway Park and at the base. A full schedule can be viewed on the Winter Park & Fraser Valley Chamber of Commerce website,www.winterpark-info.com.
