This is the time of year in Winter Park, CO when I remember why I live here year round! Cool, clear days and even cooler nights! 65 miles away in downtown Denver, they are going on 7 days of 90+ degree weather. I-70 out of Denver will be jam-packed this Friday night with city folk, rushing up to take a few days off from the heat and enjoy some golfing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, boating or just sitting on the deck and relaxing. Those of us who brave out the winters living at 9,000 feet above sea level, deserve every one of these Summer days and nights. If you live here or visit, dont you dare complain if the temperature gets into the high 70s or 80s, or well send you to run all our errands in Denver! And remember.If you are heading up to Winter Park this weekend or any time in July or August, dont forget to pack a fleece or light jacket youll need it when you are sitting on the deck in the morning drinking coffee and when the sun goes down!
