Summer is heating up this weekend in Grand County- by Eliza Jane Magdalenski

The40th Annual Winter Park Alpine ArtAffairis this weekend. The grand tradition of fine arts in the Fraser Valley is Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM 4 PM. Come to downtown winter park for an array of fine crafts, jewelry, photography, metal work, mixed media, pottery, painting, glass, wood, food and childrens actives. TheWinter Park Jazz festivalis the weekend. The jazz festival is hosted in downtown Winter Park at Hideaway Park on Saturday July 20th and Sunday July 21st. The gates open at 10 AM. The music starts at noon and ends around 6PM. General admissions tickets can be purchased through ticket master for $40 or at the box office day of for $50. For every paying adult in general admissions a child 12 and under is free. The official after party will be hosted at West Portal station located at the base of Winter Park Resort. Tickets to the after party are only $12 with the purchase of a general admission or VIP ticket. Grand Lake is hosting the annualbuffalo barbecue weekend. The barbecue is packed with music, a 5K run/walk, bingo, a pancake breakfast and more. The barbecue kicks off with a lighted boat parade on Friday night. Live music will echo throughout the town from local restaurants all weekend. This western, fun-filled weekend also includes staged cowboy shootouts, childrens games, and a parade on Sunday.
