Are you ready to hit the Winter Park Colorado trails? - by Erin Jeziorski

Call it Spring fever, but with this amazing weather, I am so ready to hit the trails! Today in Winter Park Colorado it is almost 60 degrees and I can see dry trails from my office. In fact, just recently I took a leisurely bike ride to check out the conditions and I am excited to say that mountain biking season may arrive a few weeks early this year. From easy to advanced, did you know that the Winter Park area boasts well over 600 miles of trails to explore? My favorite trail system is nestled above Rendezvous and the old Idlewild ski area. These trails primarily located in the Arapaho National Forest are easily accessed from downtown Winter Park and the Rendezvous area. From a short hike to a rolling mountain bike ride you are sure to find an adventure for everyone on these trails. If you do decide to head towards Winter Park to soak in the unseasonably May weather be sure to practice good trail etiquette. To avoid trail damage stay clear of wet and muddy areas. If avoiding these areas is not an option, do not veer off the trails as this will cause further damage and be careful of downed trees. A few great resources for trail maps here and around Winter Park are the Winter Park & Fraser Chamber, the Headwaters Trail Alliance or stop by the Real Estate of Winter Park office in downtown Winter Park and simply ask us for a free printed guide!
