Spend your 4th of July weekend in Grand County - by Margaret Sonnek

Come to Grand County and enjoy the wonderful weather, green mountains & great temperatures. There are a lot of fun activities in various areas throughout the county. Winter Park/Fraser Valley will have their annual Fireworks. NEW LOCATION this year - Hideaway Park in downtown Winter Park! Live music starts at 6pm. Fireworks at dusk. You're welcome to bring coolers, grill in designated area and pets are discouraged (leash laws in effect). Buses to run from Fraser Ballfields to Hideaway Park from 4-11pm so feel free to BBQ, throw Frisbees and all that fun at the ballfields and then join later for music and fireworks. There will also be Pancake Breakfast by the Fraser Valley Lions Club. The first High Country Stampede Rodeo of the season will begin on the 4th at the John Work Arena outside of Fraser Granby-Parade begins at 11:00am. Parade entries make their way down the main street as children and adults alike applaud their arrival. This years theme is Wildlife, Wilderness and Wonder, celebrating Rocky Mountain National Parks 100th anniversary! There will be a party in Polhamus Park. Grand Lake- There are a multitude of activities around town, live music throughout the restaurants and the dayculminates with a dazzling fireworks display over Colorados largest natural lake!
