Why: Tashi and Lapka Sherpa have made the Fraser Valley their summer home for the past 16 years. You will see them selling their jewelry at Mountain Rose and under the balcony of the Ditch Restaurant. In the winter they operate their own lodge called Ama Dablam Lodge at 11,500 ft. where many Everest climbers stay before they begin their climb. Eric Weihenmayer was once one of their guests. On April 25th and again on May 12th massive earthquakes devastated their hometowns the twin villages of Khumjung and Khunde. Nepal is a very poor country and the government was only able to give people in their villages $70 if their house was destroyed and $30 if it was damaged. Many of their neighbors are still sleeping outside. We are asking you to help our Sherpas by making a tax-deductible donation to the Oslo Foundation. All money raised will be used to rebuild the Villages of Khumjung and Khunde which is home to 1300 people.

Admission to Eric Weihenmayer lecture is freewe only ask that you consider making a donation.
