A site plan for excavation and pre-development purposes has been made for the new recycling and trash drop-off facility! What you haven't seen, were the numerous locations evaluated to house facility. Ten locations were considered before the current location depicted in the picture below at the intersection of Mill Ave and Leonard Lane. Following a County-wide Waste Diversion Study, a need and opportunity for a recycling and trash drop-off facility was identified for the Town of Fraser. We then received funding from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment in March of this year for the project, but underwent several challenges in determining where that grant money could be used to build the facility. As part of development of Byer Peak Ranch, a barn will be built to accommodate equipment and build-ing materials needed for site development and construction. Due to previous annexation agreements with Grand Park, five acres of land is to be dedicated to the Town of Fraser. In light of the difficulties in finding an adequate location for the recycling facility, and acreage owed by Grand Park, a conversation began to use an acre of land adjacent to the proposed barn in Byers Peak Ranch for our project. This resulted in a very suitable site location for the new recycling and trash drop-off facility. Final site development is in the works and land preparation for the new facility is scheduled for this fall. Information taken from the Town of Fraser Monthly Newsletter
