You Need to Attend the Stagecoach Classic This Year!

What Is the Stagecoach Classic?

The Stagecoach Classic is a point-to-point cross-country ski race and tour. The race follows the historic stagecoach route from Devils Thumb Ranch to downtown Winter Park. Youll start by traversing the pristine Nordic ski trails at Devils Thumb Ranch (be sure to enjoy the view as you go!). Then, youll trek through the former Idlewild Ski Area before you continue to Hideaway Park in downtown Winter Park. The old Idlewild trail system connected to Devils Thumb Ranch in the past, thus connecting Tabernash, Fraser, and Winter Park. Many local skiers view this area as the best Nordic ski area in Colorado. When you ski the Stagecoach Classic, youll have the unique opportunity to ski this Off the Map trail that ties into the history of the Winter Park area. In addition, the Stagecoach Classic is the only time all season that these special trails will be groomed for ski access. After you pass through the Idlewild Ski Area and finish the race, you can join in the celebrations taking place at Hideaway Park! These celebrations include an awards ceremony and a fun after-party complete with great food, refreshing brews at the beer garden, and live music. The sixth annual Stagecoach Classic is a 30km/15km classic-technique-only, cross-country ski race starting at Devils Thumb Ranch and finishing at Hideaway Park. Theres still time to sign upyou can register online until 12:00 p.m. on January 24th, but dont wait too long! The prices increase the longer you wait. If you miss the window for online registration, you can still register for the event on January 25th by calling the Nordic Center at Devils Thumb Ranch. Friday, January 25th

9:00 am 8:00 pm: Pre-registration and packet pick-up at the Winter Park Visitor Center. Note that the location has changed: they are now at 78967 US Hwy 40 in Winter Park.

Saturday, January 26th

7:00 am 8:30 am: 30k race registration and packet pick-up 7:00 am 10:00 am: 15k race and tour registration and packet pick-up 9:00 am: 30k race mass start 10:30 am: 15k race mass start 10:35 am: 15k ski tour start 11:00 am 3:30 pm: After party with food, beer, and music in Hideaway Park 12:30 pm: Awards ceremony and raffle

Transportation

The Stagecoach Classic begins at Devils Thumb Ranch and finishes in Hideaway Park in Winter Park. Shuttles will be available throughout the day from Winter Park to Devils Thumb Ranch, so you can park in Winter Park and take the shuttle to the Devils Thumb Ranch starting point.
