It's that time of year in Winter Park, Colorado - by Jennifer Brewster

It's that time of year when it is not uncommon to see multiple people in one day with fire engine red noses and cheeks and white eyes and foreheads!! Don't forget your sunscreen when you are out enjoying Spring time in the Winter Park area. At higher altitudes, the sun rays are not filtered as well by the atmosphere. The result is cooler [...]

Grand Park Community Recreation Center Update - by Lisa Leclair Waldorf

March madness is almost behind us and there are lots of great things happening at the new Grand Park Community Recreation Center as we approach spring and the shoulder season. The hours are changing again (they were extended hours in March) . Monday-Friday the rec center is open from 6am to 9pm, Saturday is 7:30 to 9pm and Sunday is 10am to 6pm. The new fitness class schedule is out for April and there are a ton of fun new adult and kids classes. I look forward to trying some new classes and sticking with my old faves. Ive really enjoyed Mias Wheel Jam spin classes this winter. She offers such a fun and challenging workout. Ill hopefully avoid the lung burning and saddle sores that spring mountain biking in Winter Park always brings. Ill be sure to try my friend Maras new spin class on Tuesdays and Real Estate of Winter Parks own Sue Seemann is teaching a Shift and Lift class on Sundays which sounds like fun! There are also water fitness classes, pilates, martial arts and aerobics type classes on the schedule as well. If you need daycare while you enjoy a class or want to sit and soak in the hot tub alone, they offer that with limited hours at the rec center as well. Check out the April class schedule, Playful Penguin child care hours and save me a bike now that Ive let you in on my favorites but if thats not your thing Ill see you at the pool!!
